De Facto (go with yourself) originates from and builds upon a symbiosis of two distinctly individualist artists: in their concert performance, Leja Jurišić and Milko Lazar address the independence of life – and therefore artistic creation – in the whirl of contemporary apathy and alienation. Their engagement comes from the desire to discover truth, from the wish of an individual liberation from the omnipresent totalitarianism of sense, to mark the way to authenticity of one’s own existential experience, freedom, rebellion … The performance is based on the research of the (in)ability to surpass one’s own position, as well as on the spontaneous interaction with the Other, be it directly on the level of a movement and sound, or on the level where their relationship is moulting into a sensory allegory of a wider societal constellation. The event maps the terrain for searching for truth in a postfactual world: truths, reflected in the stage presence of an untamed female body and a deconstructed sound matrix, which in front of the audience grow into a sensual manifestation of longing, passion and courage.
