With neither rehearsals nor director, Soleimanpour’s text awaits a different actor each time in a sealed envelope – an actor who hasn’t seen the text or the performance before. A daring theatre experiment convincingly realises the transgressive and transformative power of theatre, and thus, in an absurd-grotesque way, reveals the personal experience of the Middle Eastern situation. We can easily imagine that it’s "bad" over there, we can follow it in the media. Most of us will never experience this kind of violence. But it happens. For now, to others.
